The same show included three Jolson favourites: “Toot, Toot, Tootsie,” “California, Here I Come,” and “April Showers.” Some of his biggest successes were achieved at the New York Winter Garden. In Jolson starred in The Jazz Singer, the first feature film with synchronized speech as well as music and sound effects. The picture.

IAJS DLThis lovingly remastered CD is a restoration of the Decca release of the same name, produced by the International Al Jolson Society for sale to members only. Here is an album of songs originally recorded for Kraft Music Hall broadcasts, with Orchestra and Chorus directed by Lou Bring.

The CD starts off strong with Jolson singing "Swanee" with a brief introductory musical phrasing. The amusing "Toot Toot Tootsie" follows, as do other great classics including "California Here I Come;" "Alexander's Ragtime Band;" "April Showers" and "You Made Me Love You." The CD ends nicely with the beautiful "Let Me Sing And I'm Happy."/5(4).

Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin published it in under the name of "The Anniversary Song" ("Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed") and as their own composition. The sheet music of the song credits the composers as Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin with music by Iosif Ivanovici. Jolson and Chaplin wrote the lyrics while Chaplin adapted.
